The Elsternwick Cricket Club Women’s team is open to women and girls from age 14 with any level of experience.

 

Whether you are returning to cricket or trying it for the first time you’ll find us friendly and welcoming and enjoy all the physical and social benefits of participating in sport.

While we all love to make runs, take wickets and win matches, we’re also keen to have fun in an environment where women and girls of all ages and abilities can enjoy playing in an inclusive and supportive local cricket club.

REDUCING BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION

Elsternwick Cricket Club understand that women often have family, work and other commitments that can limit their ability to participate in organised sport. We are keen to make our club open and welcoming so if you’re interested but can’t make every training and game, that’s fine.

COMPETITION

Our team plays in the Cricket Southern Bayside Women’s Competition which is a Twenty 20 format (each side bats for 20 overs). We compete in a mid-level division, which is suitable for both new and experienced players. Matches take approximately 3 hours and are played on Sunday afternoons against local clubs around the bayside area.

The season runs from October to February/March with a break over Christmas until mid January and no matches on long weekends.

​TRAINING

Training is held from 6:00-7:30pm on Wednesday evenings at Elsternwick Park and we try to have a mix of net sessions and match simulation practice.

Elsternwick Cricket Club understands the value of investing in coaching to achieve growth, success and enjoyment for all our players.

We have a dedicated coach who is great at both teaching the basics of cricket and supporting the skills development of all players.
