Dasun Opanayaka joined Elsternwick Cricket Club in the 2021/22 season after an impressive stint with premier club Dandenong, quickly establishing himself as a genuine triple threat. Renowned for his calm, methodical approach in the middle order, Dasun brings balance to the team through his dependable batting, crafty swing and seam bowling, and dynamic fielding. His versatility ensures he is always in the game, ready to shift momentum and inspire teammates under pressure.

Debuting as Men's 1st XI player #629, Das has featured in 56 1st XI matches in his 4 seasons at the club. With the bat, he has compiled 1486 runs at an average of 31.6, with a high score of 98 not out against Moorabbin in 2024/25. With the ball, he has taken 81 wickets at an average of 20.7, with best figures of 6-63 against Port Melbourne in 2024/25. He has taken 22 catches and effected 6 runs outs, athletically roaming covers, mid wicket and in the deep.  

Dasun’s consistency and commitment have played a pivotal role in the clubs repeated 1st XI top 8 finishes in recent seasons. He has twice been honored with the Colin Fraser Men's Club Champion award, a testament to his exemplary performances and his commitment to excellence.
